Dr. Amy Connery

Assistant Professor in Speech and Language Pathology

Amy is an Assistant Professor in Speech and Language Pathology in the Department of Clinical Speech and Language Studies. She has over ten years of clinical experience working in paediatric primary care and disability settings.

Her research interests include effective stuttering interventions for both children and adults, Public and Patient Involvement (PPI), multi-stakeholder co-design of interventions, and evidence-based practice. She has published on these topics in a range of peer-reviewed journals, and is also a reviewer for several international journals. She has recently set up a stuttering support group for students at Trinity College with the support of the Trinity Disability Service.

Amy’s teaching centres on developmental speech sound disorders, stuttering, and developmental language disorders. She also supervises undergraduate research projects with fourth year students. She is passionate about enhancing the participation and educational outcomes of all members of the University community, and advocating for a sense of inclusion across diverse groups.
